Day 5 - No Coffee
This is incredibly easier than I had expected. I guess the fact that I've reduced my daily coffee intake from about six cups per day last year down to one or two per day for the last several months my dependence has lessened significantly. I'd also like to point out that this isn't necessarily a break from caffeine, though the tea I've been drinking is decaffeinated, and the dependence is certainly caffeine-related, but I've enjoyed a soda or two over the last few days and I don't have any intention really of eliminating caffeine from my diet, especially since the volume is fairly low. I've been drinking coffee since I was about twelve years old and I can't really remember a day I've been without it - except on some extended field exercises in the military when coffee was a rare commodity. I would simply like coffee to be less involved in my daily routine each morning; there are other choices, and I think this will even intensify the enjoyment of my favorite Sumatran roast when I do feel the desire to enjoy a cup. That reminds me - I need to delay my next shipment.
